2004 BMW E46 M3 Manual
Discussion
Hi there, thanks for the question.
As mentioned in the description the boot floor was replaced by BMW before the 10 year warranty expired and they managed to find small cracks to justify the authorisation.
The rest of the underside as far as I know is in good order as the car has always been garaged and had fair weather use during my ownership.
I've attached an image taken by the garage that did the recent diff overhaul in case this helps.
Any other info required just ask.
Regards
Carl

Hello, the MOT is in the documents so you can see the advisories.
From memory, they noted the rear brake lines and slightly worn suspension bushes.
Also the input seal for the diff was slightly leaking, but then I had the diff fully rebuilt.
The discs had some surface corrosion as I drove it straight from storage to the MOT garage and have since cleaned them up.

Hi, Your M3 looks great, please can I ask, is the warranty work completed in 2014 documented? I assume that BMW would have provided a free of charge invoice for the warranty work?
Also have the Conrod bearings been replaced at all? Lastly, is the Vanos system working correctly and has it been serviced?
I look forward to hearing from you.
Regards Brian

Thanks Brian, I received a certificate for the work done in 2014 by BMW, but no invoice as it was covered by the warranty. The certificate is included in the documents. Also have the Conrod bearings been replaced at all? Lastly, is the Vanos system working correctly and has it been serviced?

The conrod bearings have not been replaced.
The vanos is working correctly and as I've done quite regular oil and filter changes during the period I've owned the car I've not had any problems.

Carl

Hello
Please could you advise what works were carried out on the diff and by whom?
Many thanks
Andy
Thanks for the question Andy. For the diff, when I took it for the MOT there was a small weep from the input shaft seal. Although it didn't seem anything to worry about, I noticed a noise from the diff and unfortunately it had run too low on oil. The invoice is in the documents - the diff was removed and fully rebuilt. Please could you advise what works were carried out on the diff and by whom?
Many thanks
Andy
The diff removal and reinstall was done by A1 BMW Specialists in Stevenage and the diff was rebuilt by another specialist. I don't know the name but the work looks exceptional - if you need any more detail i can ask the garage.
Regards
Carl
