NI Plates

I’ve just bought a NI registered car and fitted my own plates.

When I eventually get rid of it and keep the plates will DVLA put the NI plate back on it or give me an age related UK one?

Or is it just what happens on the day?

The car will return to its original registration, in this case the NI one.
