Hopefully a nice easy one guys.

Got a Standard 3 core cable and wanting to add ia switch onto it.

Basics are, power coming in from the bottom and going out to a light from the top.

Where do my cables go?

The existing black cable is for the small led light on the switch itself.

The earth will go to the earth on the other half of the case but where do my live brown and neutral blue go?

Cheers.

Paul.

Where is this switch? Never mind the colours, the cables don't look right to me. "Flex" isn't the same as "cable". Or is it just a foot-switch for a floor lamp?

The LED will be "on" all the time. Is that what you had in mind? Perhaps it's just so the switch can be found in the dark. Seems odd to me. That black wire never needed a connector at all - unless it was too short. All looks odd to me.

It's an external switch. The cable is waterproof pond cable, using it for a short run to an external LED light so i don't have to keep reaching the socket to power it off.

The black wire is pre-installed on the switch. I'm assuming i can move this to where required?

As it is the indicator lamp would be on when the switch is off (to help find it in the dark) or It could be reconfigured to be an 'on' indicator.
