What is the best mechaquartz movement, and which watches are they used in?

I'm tempted by one of the Seiko chronos, but I'm not sure I like the subdial layout. What alternatives are there, doesn't have to be solar.

I like the Furlan Mari mechaquartz offerings. They use the Seiko VK64 movement which seems to be well regarded.

Unusual consideration of an asthmometer. Other than HCPs, I wonder who else would find this useful.

I came close to buying a Seiko SSB383 or 385 (different colour versions of the same design) chrono, I like the design but the lack of lume put me off along with being able to get a better specced solar Citizen for less than the quartz Seiko.

I'd bet 99% of people buying watches with things like chronographs or deep dive ratings chose them because they thought it looked nice.
