Audi RS6. What looks like dust all over the rear quarter (just in front of the rear wheel) is actually hundreds of tiny stone chips (might help to zoom in a bit).

Same both sides, never been off roaded!

The paint must be incredibly soft if this is how it looks after just 10,000 miles.

Is the only solution a respray and PPF? It seems too big an area for a smart repair, it goes halfway up the back doors!

Might even try hiding it with Colour Magic polish (if that’s still a thing?) unless anyone has any better ideas?

Did you happen to pass and get blasted by any gritters earlier in the year?

If you want that back to good as new it will require spray painting.

No, I don’t think it’s from gritters. I’ve been told that all of the widebody RS’s suffer from this - it’s gradually getting worse so if I paint it I know it will happen again. I guess the only answer would have been PPF, but it’s too late now!

Spray it with Panel wipe, if the marks disappear while the panel wipe is wet then they can be sanded and polished out, if you can still see them then it's a respray job.
If you just want to make it look better each time you wash it try 'Poorboys Black hole', it works great on black cars, it only lasts as long as a car product does, but easy to apply when you wash it.
