was out with a family friend t'other day and talk got round to music and he mentioned these guys. Never even heard of them before and whilst they're not the last thing in music, they're not at all bad

Avenge Sevenfold. I'd always dismissed them for some reason, but this year I reckon they'll be in my top 5 most played.

I clicked a random link in YouTube for a track "Moon" by "Kid Francescoli" and liked it so looked up the album it's off called "Play Me Again" which I really enjoyed. A sort of chilled easy listening French electronica act.

Khruangbin.

A trio with a light jazz / Eastern feel to the tunes, but almost impossible to pigeonhole.

Mark, on guitar, has a very light touch but a really good ear for what sounds good both harmonically and melodically.
