We don't know the password for my wife's Gmail account. Her laptop is logged into it, but she doesn't know the password.
For some reason, the account is linked to my phone, which doesn't have her account on it. This means that when I try to retrieve the details of the account, it won't work.
I don't know any other way to retrieve the details, even though my address is the backup account for it.
Has anyone else experienced this and found an answer?

How is her laptop logged into the email account? Via a browser, via Outlook, something else?

It may help in working out how to get the password from the laptop.

Can you look in the saved passwords section on the browser that it's logged into?

Thanks to you both. I've managed to sort it using the Gmail Recovery Tool. Appreciate your responses and am very relieved it sorted!

Is it in Google password manager? It must be in something for it to be logged in

If you haven't already done so I would suggest make a note of the password and enforce MFA and in your Google account settings run through all the "recovery options" stuff to make sure it is ALL up to date and working smile

Cheers. I will, despite what the wife thinks!
