Some pesky little tw*t has just (in the last 15mins) keyed my bonnet. It now has about a 2ft scratch across it.
I can cope with being called 'small dick' or simular but when the jealosy thing starts costing me money I get very pissed off!
Has anyone any recommendations on how to get this fixed? Do the mobile scratch repair vans work on GRP?

If they had done that to my Chimaera I would have felt like rearranging their facial features! What get's me is the audacity of these little w
's. The car was parked on my drive whilst me wife was at home. She had literally been home about 5 mins, then popped back out 10 mins later and saw the scratch. My god if she had caught him we could all have gone paid him a visit up at A & E.

It looks like your car is Starmist Crimson the same as mine. If it is then chipsaway will not be able to do it because thay can't mix "starmist" colour paint.
At least that's what I have been told by two different chipsaway francise holders.
If you manage to get any mobile service to do it, please let me know who it is as I would be very interested.

I'd think seriously about installing a low-budget CCTV system trained on the car, and triggered recording by movement.
The last thing you want is a respray, and then someone to do it again.
Good advice POD, if the little scroat strikes again i hope he remembers to smile for the (soon to be installed) camara. I gonna look into recording onto a hard drive rather than tape / dvd which limit the amount of time you can actually record for. I've had experiance of the PIR triggered systems before and they're not always 100% reliable. I'd rather go for a permanantely live recording.

I'm not sure on the exact colour name, but it certainly looks very simular to yours. I have Mr ChipsAway coming to see me tomorrow evening, so I'll let you know how I get on.

I know this sounds daft, but have you reported it to the police?
I had mine keyed down the passengers side whilst parked in a Bournemouth side road.
A couple of weeks later I was parking in the same road and got talking to bloke cleaning his car on his driveway. He told me that all the residents knew who was doing it and it was just a sad bloke who didn't like anyone parking near his house.
He had managed to key his neighbours cars as well as poor unsuspecting shoppers such as me.
To cut a long one short; a couple of months later he got caught in the act by the old Bill who set a up some kind of scam where the bloke got pictured and witnessed by a local resident.
If you mention it to the police it could well turn out that you're not the only one in your road and if you have a crime number there's maybe a chance of some cash if he's caught?
Now the bad news; it ain't going to be cheap if you can see GRP.

But don't hold your breath on getting money, have had similar dealings, chap ordered to pay £250 over two years (which the police collects and you would get in the end). He wasn't paying and the only way to enforce it would be through court again which would slap another fine on it (or so I was told). See how the circle is complete now? On the other had park on a single yellow or do 62 on a sixty YOUR pocket will get lighter very quickly...

They probably wont do much but will give you a crime ref number.
My mate bought an Elan like mine, a few days later it had every panel scratched with what looked like a stanley knife and hood slashed. It was parked at the end of a close on the drive. The fekker who did it must have gone out of their way to damage it.
He got a full respray and hood on insurance. Kinda worked out well in the end but still causes paranoia and rage.

Have had Mr ChipsAway round this evening and sadly he can't help. Not due to the metalic paint or anything, simply down to the fact that the scratch is on the bonnet and so because of the large surface area of the panel it makes it hard to blend the repair in. So my only option is to have it repaired by a bodyshop. Can anyone recommend a reputable place that I can take it to in the N. Surrey area?

Did you find out if your colour was Crimson Starmist?
If not would you mind letting me know the paint code on the plate on the drivers side wing under the bonnet. That will tell me if it is.
If he said that he can do this paint I would really like to know.
