Just discussing with some colleagues at work, and none of us seem to know the answer - whats the score if you buy an expensive engagement ring as a surpise, but she says no when you pop the question  ?

Can you take them back for a full refund, or do you just have to be sure she will say yes?

Doubt they will refund it but you could sell it on...

Or hope the next girl doesn't have fat fingers

Would have thought you could take it back.

You're not posting on behalf of DOWNSHIFT are you ?

Some shop will refund if you tell them first. Mainly the bigger ones like Goldsmiths.

I got a refund (I changed my mind before I proposed- found out she didn't have a reflection in the mirror) and I managed to swap the ring for a nice watch... my "escape" watch as I call it.

If you go to Elizabeth Duke at Argos you can probably exchange it for a toaster (maybe not top of the range though) if she doesn't say yes...

If you're not sure she's going to say yes, then IMHO you shouldn't be asking her to marry you.

Yeah, don't bother asking. Just the slip the collar and leash on her and you'll get years of faithful service out of her.

Actually, given the quality of ED's jingle-jangle, a finger sporting one of Dualits finest might not be such a bad idea.....

How you could impress your friends.....a toast making engagement ring.....
