I bought Kimono My House on pre-recorded tape when it came out. You remember what it said Twig ‘Also available on 8-track’

I go for coffee in a small village in West Sussex with my wife.
As we drive in the village name sign has written below it.
This town ain't big enough for the both of us.

Propaganda and Kimono My House are both great albums.

Can’t believe that it was back in 1974 - still sounds great today as it did when as when I first bought it as a spotty 14 year old!

How hilarious it was for Ron Mael to turn up looking like Adolf Hitler.

Try some of their more recent stuff. "Dick Around" is a personal favourite, also the combination with Franz Ferdinand (which they called FFS).

I saw them live at Oxford New Theatre in 1974 I think. I hung around at the back door after the gig and got their autographs on the program. The program my parents threw out with my copies of the NME when they moved house.

They're still good live and always get a very good band together. Try the BBC 6 Music Festival performance from 2017. On Youtube.

One of the decreasing number of old bands worth seeing today. Also in that category is PIL who I saw a couple of weeks ago in Sheffield. Still an excellent band really putting in a shift plus £3.50 pints makes for a very good night. Sensible ticket prices too (£35).

I loved Sparks in the early years, saw them twice and bought Kimono My House and Propoganda. I bought their latest album last year after a good review on the Jonny Walker Show. Struggled through a few listenings and now it’s consigned towards the back of the record rack. At least I bought it with a gift voucher.
