Looking to buy a Mclaren Artura but after being ignored by Hatfield and Glasgow where do I go for some level of service ?

I’ve got to say I’m a bit surprised as both of these dealers are owned by individuals unlike pretty much the rest which are large group owned.

Hatfield have been very good in my experience. Who did you speak to? Andy may be on holiday but he's extremely helpful.

I'd be heading Birmingham way.

I had a great sales experience with Manchester, I'm not sure wanted my money.

Just go to Alastair Bols and tell him what you want.

I didn't buy from them in the end, but I actually had very good service from McAscot.

Alternatively, go Alastair Bols, although not sure how many Artura's he's had/can get

There’s a spider on the market with 800 miles at £175k and two others with a few more miles on them at the same price

Does this make a simple coupe around the £125/135k mark ?

There’s a 2025 spider at Manchester with 200 miles for £169k. A coupe for £125k-£135k will likely be 2 or 3 years older.

It’s not like there are many dealerships so unless you are willing to travel great distances, surely it’s pick the one closest to you and develop a good relationship.

Too many buyers forget it’s a 2 way thing. I find treating the dealer with respect and as a long term relationship gets the best service irrespective of brand.

All said McLaren Ascot are excellent and I recommend them.

Chris at McAscot was an absolute star when I was buying mine If I go for an Artura, I'll be buying from him, no question.

Also worth mentioning I found their aftersales/servicing really good; just a shame they're so far away. I know others have had very different experiences though.

The officially appointed dealers don't seem able to generate consistent, resounding support, to the OP's question.
I was waiting to see if they would.

Thorney Motorsport is my dealer, and I am greatly impressed by their Service.

Proper service, knowledgeable, no clap trap, and honest.

Surprised at McHatfield. Had great service there when I bought my car but that was a few years ago when James and Robert were there. Both have moved on to pastures new now which is a shame as both of them were fantastic representatives of the brand. Had a few niggles in my first few months of ownership and Robert always got back to me very quickly and sorted it.

Last time I called in, it did feel a bit understaffed but I did call in on a Sunday to be fair. They are not independently owned as far as I know, they are part of the Grange dealer group.

High staff turnover is a bad sign in any organisation, impossible to get to know their customer base, or build relationships
