Renewing My Current V778 Online?

Hi Peeps can you assist please, I currently can't see the wood for the trees on the UK Gov website. I'm trying to renew my V778 retention (Private Plate) Document that expires later this month I can see the option to "Renew your V750 online" But I only have the old original still valid V778 doc and a recent reminder from DVLA informing me I need to renew.

My problem is I can't see that I can renew this V778 document online only by sending it back to the DVLA.

Am I missing something?

Is the expiry date within 30 days from now as otherwise they won’t renew it until it is.

Yep it's due to expire on the 17th of this month.

Ah - I have a feeling that the 778 is the older version and therefore has to be done by post maybe ?
I vaguely recall trying to do something similar only I wanted to add a nominee and before I could do so bought another car and just assigned the plate !

Correct. V750 online and post, V778 post only.

I thought as much, many thanks guys, don't know why the GUV UK site can't explain that in simple terms.
