Good evening/
I need to replace my bonnet struts as they’ve corroded - they are made by Stabilus but I can’t seem to find a replacement- not yet ventured near dealer as I want to avoid Alpine tax for a part made by Stabilus if possible.
Has anybody replaced theirs yet please?

I see on an “owners cars” McLaren thread they’ve used a generic strut so might try that if no success.
Many thanks

Try here

Used them to replace struts on other cars for years - great quality and good service

Years ago when I had my S1 Exige I added some gas struts on the rear engine cover and once I'd worked out length and travel found some quite cheap on RS Components, they were adjustable pressure as well so needed a week once fitted to stop it open in about 1 sec.
