Bike for holidays
Discussion
My wife and both ride, R1250RS and F900XR, and I am thinking of getting a couple of lightweight small bikes to stick on a trailer behind our motorhome when we are in Europe. We don’t need anything particularly fast and would have nakeds to help keep cool. We we won’t be on motorways so I was thinking of a couple of Triumph Speed 400 or something like that.
What would you suggest test riding and getting?

I love the look of the scrambler 400x, or the NX500 (cb500x that was)
I don’t have a big (or modern) bike, and put my 1981 Superdream 400 on a trailer and take it with us. This year I am planning to actually ride it from Midlands to Anglesey as part of the holiday. In my more mature years (54) I found 43bhp is just the right power for just pottering around enjoying the ride.

Depending on where you've got planned, and how much you wish to spend... Himalayans? The new BSA Bantam?
This would be my suggestion. I had a look round one at the local dealer the other day and I was really impressed with how 'grown up' it looked. And for under four grand it wouldn't be a big stress to trailer it and leave it places.Having spoken to someone who's ridden one a fair bit he said they're really good fun too.
