I thought that post would be a heads up that there was a great film on.
One of the best ‘car-adjacent’ films ever, the Miura, the Minis, the E Type off the cliff.
I’d hope the majority on PH would see this being on BBC2 as a good thing!
We would! Another opportunity to see a great film. One of the best ‘car-adjacent’ films ever, the Miura, the Minis, the E Type off the cliff.

But some think otherwise:

Is this what the licence payers fund?
So the thread is just another TV licence bashing exercise.TomTheTyke said:

Yeah, I'm not too sure what I should be getting angry about either. One of the best ‘car-adjacent’ films ever, the Miura, the Minis, the E Type off the cliff.

No wasn’t meant to be, just never thought of BBC showing old films, thought that the nature of their funding meant it was all usually fresh stuff on these main channels with repeats etc on “lesser” channelsThey are also available on the iPlayer, again without the interruption of adverts.

It would be interesting to see documentary about the Italian job; it’s certainly not short of material, intrigue and mystery, how much of which is true may be open to question.
It remains one of my favourite films, being a simple soul, cars, birds and inappropriate humour; I’m in my happy place. It’s quintessentially British and all the better for it.
I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve (subjected others) seen it. No excuses are necessary for another viewing.

Ok - my mistake
Probably just my misconceptions, my internet was down last night & I went looking for alternatives, don’t really watch much TV normally.
I genuinely thought BBC1 & 2 were different to the commercial channels in content (adverts aside) & in all honesty looking at what’s listed as BBC2’s remit & how I interpret it, I still think a repeat of a 60’s film is wide of the mark a bit, regardless of how good it is/was.

If you're thinking of the cultural/arts/scientific content, then that's largely moved to BBC4. A lot of that has been canned with budget cuts sadly.Probably just my misconceptions, my internet was down last night & I went looking for alternatives, don’t really watch much TV normally.
