Probably more relevant for the track day drivers. I recently took my car on a track day to Three Sisters and afterwards have noticed this wear which I’ve never seen before. I’m fairly sure of where I have done it, a decreasing radius long right hander which is a full throttle corner. The picture below is of the front left tyre and the front right tyre has worn the same on the outside edge.

Is it not enough pressure? Overheating? Possibly driving technique? This corner was right on the edge of understeer for me.

Car is a mk1 TT so essentially fwd for all intents and purposes. I’ve done loads of track days in different cars/tyres but never had this wear before. I was checking pressures religiously although heat in the tyre was a problem as it’s a short track with a lot of heavy acceleration and braking with very short straights in between.

Standard tyre wear pattern when an aggressively driven under-steery car is on track really.

A geometry re-jig will likely help with a more track-orientated set-up.
