My Orange mobile phone is now nearly two years old. I've never had a contract phone before and haven't been contacted about an upgarde. My existing contract gave me 200 minutes and 500 free texts a month. Imagine my confusion when my metronomic £35 monthly payment went up to £100 in August. Apparently my free texts period has run out and they're now charging me because I haven't upgraded, Bastards!!

Yep I found out that in the small print they can put you on any contrat they think you are suitable for when your contract is up for renewal.

I am now on Vodafone.

Gits!

I bought a tiny little Samsung a few years ago (still haven't seen many smaller phones). My phone bill averages £18 a month (including line rental). The company keep phoning me every year, and the conversation usually goes like this:

"Hello sir, would you like to upgrade your hadset to our everything-but-the-kitchen-sink model, for a modest £50 a month?"

"Why would I want to do that? All I want it for is to call people, and the occasional text"

"Err, okay, what can we do for you instead?"

"You can halve my line rental again."

"Erm, Okay."

Winner!
