Well, I have not started a readers cars thread in a very long time...

I have just placed a deposit on a Jaguar F Type which I will be collecting on Friday and I am very excited 😊

The car is replacing a 2024 BMW M2 which is the best car I have owned to date by a country mile but I only have a 2 car driveway atm and have far too many cars I want to try so after 15 months of ownership it has had to go.

Plan is to have the SVR map added as its the exact same engine and potentially have some exhaust work done depending on how loud it is...

At £45k and a good p/x price for M2 I think these are fantastic vfm given the package and the fact new this spec would be near enough £90k!

Currently 33 years old so may be on the younger side for a Jag owner but I don't care...

Few photos from the advert for now.

That looks really nice! Looking forward to your feedback. I don’t think any age is right for any car, just go for what you want! Enjoy!!

Lovely looking car! I've got a V6s and also had a BMW M240 in the past, so slightly slower versions of your cars.

So much drama with the F types - the noise is amazing. If you put it in dynamic and knock the gear selector over to sports it is an absolute hooligan of a car.

Look forward to hearing how you get on with it.

Yes, I really wanted a Cayman GT4 but needed to get some work on the house done so it can wait another 18 months.

This scratches the V8 itch and I can't see it plummiting in value given early ones are still 25k+ for a V8.

It is a lot better looking than my M2 was as well but will miss it!

You won’t miss the M2 for a minute once you hear that V8 firing up. Enjoy!

Love these.
Take it to Veezu for a map and pulley and you have the full 600 bhp and the (IMO) prettier new front end.

My mates Mrs has one of these but the hard top, we took it skiing in February, us in a B7 RS4 and them in that. Really cool car and fun on the twisty bits. Autobahn machine too.

Home safe 🙂

Pulled fuse 15 almost immediately and the sound is unbelievable.

Feels as quick as my M2 as well which surprised me, it will be properly rapid when I have it mapped in month or so.

Drove 150 miles in it already!

Removing the fuse keeps the exhaust valves permanently open. More noise. biggrin

Not wanting to take the enjoyment of your new car away but a word of warning about pulling fuse 15. Someone posted this on the F-Pace SVR group a while back. The person who posted it was said to work for/have connections with Viezu.

Great cars with an addictive engine. They do sound awesome, go find some tunnels!

Thanks, I was going to put it back in every couple of weeks for a decent drive before I can get the exhaust done properly so its only a temporary thing.

No problem, I ran my F-Pace with the purple connector in the boot unplugged a lot of the time (exhaust valves full open all the time) and got a EML on which turned out to be an o2 sensor, typically the more expensive one! Could be coincidence or maybe a result of pulling the plug who knows?

They really are fantastic engines though, just everything about them, sound, throttle response, power delivery etc I miss mine. Lovely car you’ve got there anyway!
