Wooden Windows
Discussion
Can anyone point me to a good supplier of wooden windows please.
Our builder has been let down by his usual supplier for an extension we're having built and my calls so far either don't do wood, will only do the whole house, or have given me bonkers prices (like 10K for these 2 windows!) and a 6 month lead time!
I need a pair of flush casement windows in white, both DG & 9mm leaded, monkey tail handles:
Window 1 : 2030w x 1350h. 3 Columns, 1 Row, L & R opening.
Window 2 : 740w x 1350h. 1 Column, 1 Row, Obscured.
Supply only is perfect, but supply and fit is also fine if that's what we need to do to make it happen.
We're in Farnborough, Hants.

I think I've found a UK company (specifically, they manufacture in the UK) who can do supply & delivery in 4 weeks for a very reasonable price. I'll arrange installation myself. As long as quality is decent, I'll post details here once I have them.
Would be good to know. From my basic investigations, timber frames seem to fall into two main categories, either made bespoke with big lead times and costs or imported from Eastern European factories and available quite quickly. Not entirely sure that there is any great difference in quality in many cases. DonkeyApple said:

They all call themselves bespoke as it's all made to measure, but I do think there's another level of "proper" bespoke, handmade by a joiner - I doubt I'll ever own house that justifies that. So I've been looking at relatively standard flush casement styles made to fit our holes.Suppliers using Eastern European factories were mostly quoting 12 week lead times, with one well known company quoting 26 weeks & 10K (for 2 very average sized windows)
TBF, I expected 12 weeks, although with my business hat on I'd be thinking if my factory was running to a 12 week lead time for things that take very little time to actually manufacture, maybe its worth expanding since the market might be able to sustain a bigger facility and we'd capture more market share. But I know nothing.
Anyway, I've taken a punt - I hope the quality is on a par with the polish ones.

I used Custom precision for all my windows. Very reasonable price, although a few years back. They deliver nationwide.
