I wear a white dial Seamaster as my daily watch and was thinking of treating myself to a Speedmaster to go with it.

I like the 2021 on model and would happily have either the Heselite or the Sapphire Sandwich (and maybe the white dial). I like the way you can see the movement on the SS with no auto mechanism to shield it, and there are extra bits on the dial and polished links, but I do like the look of the heselite dial.

I can't decide whether to buy one as well or sell mine on ebay and then buy something similar from there as the prices seem to be within a few hundred £s - I suspect fees to sell will be a chunk though.

Anyone run both or did you end up going back to one of them?

I'd keep the Seamaster until I was sure after buying the Speedie. I have both, and regularly consider selling one or both to help fund a car but I just like the bit of luxury on the Seamaster and I always wanted a Moonwatch.

The speedmaster is great with a whole range of straps too.

You could try a cheap used moonswatch to see how you like the design before you spend a few £k

I have both.

Seamaster is a 2013
Speedy from last year

They are different enough to justify having both. Guess with one being blue and the other one white helps, in my case.

I love the simplicity and solid feel of the SMP. Just feels right and bombproof when wearing.

The speedy is definitely more busy in appearance, but at the same time looks fantastic. Don't use the stopwatch much to be honest.

With you already having a white face SMP, perhaps go black dial for the speedy? I'd go sapphire just for the display caseback.

Thanks chaps, I agree that if I have both the Black dial makes sense.

I'm usually wearing either a blue SMP300 or black Speedmaster Professional. They are very different watches but I enjoy both equally. I'd agree with getting the Speedmaster first before making any decisions on selling the Seamaster, if you are able to.

It terms of choice between hesalite or sapphire, each have their own merits but be aware that you can very easily swap to an exhibition caseback from Spiralwinder

I was looking at Speedmasters last week. Unexpectedly, it was the Racing Chronograph model on the right I ended up leaning towards - looks spectacular in the “flesh”.

Difficult choice . . .

To me, the Racing feels much better on the wrist than the standard speedy in sapphire or hesalite. I've tried one a few times, I'm just not sure which colour/strap/bracelet combo I'd go for.

What version is that on the left? Different hands and case from the standard moonwatch? FOIS?

Love the constellation. That’s one of my grail watches. I bought one last year but stupidly didn’t check the size correctly and it ended up being a ladies one. I’ve put it down for my daughter for when she gets older. Shame. As it looked perfect in the pics.

Heritage model - sapphire crystal but hesalite shape. I think it’s the “First Omega in Space” model.

I love the constellation too.
Received this from my folks after my 1st born arrived. It is the one watch for me that is more important than all of the others I have.

Will pass it on to her when the time comes.

Silly question but why can’t you wear and enjoy it?

I’m sure she will love it.

I think the first time I remember seeing a constellation was one of my first managers had one. He drove a Targa played golf on Fridays and was the epitome of effortless cool. Great bloke as well. I’ve tried to incorporate some of his management style into my own over the years.

I very much doubt you are going to have any problems wearing a Seamaster in Dorset.

Well for old boys maybe, there were some Rolex rippers in the region a couple of years ago. One old boy got ripped off one outside the golf club.

Lots of hotels in bournemouth, mostly occupied by government funded you know what's....I'd feel iffy wearing mine.

Oh and we got burgled several years ago in Dorset....and they took my beloved SM.
