Looking at options to upgrade the Front brakes on my Griff 500. Previously had a WMS kit for my turbo chimp which fitted under the std15" but Kerry says he can't get the correct calipers anymore.

Options for 15" Estorils appreciated

Although I may end up with 16 & 17" wheels as an option.

TIA

Ford fiesta st170 front calipers and carriers. Offset will need a spacer and I can't remember the size.
Discs, 283mm for cosworth discs.

Can't help with 4 pots but if you do find something I'd be interested in buying your old calipers, they make a nice little upgrade for the S Series which came with tiny 240mm discs wink

Is the Brake Wiki in the S Series forum which applies to Chimps and Griefs too.

When properly maintained, with suitable pads and discs, the 278 / 283mm set up is fine for trackday duties. You may wish to fit larger and vented rear discs (273mm) but this means new hub bearing carriers, calipers and discs. Plenty feel, though, that the Chimp and Grief are already 'overbraked' on the rear.

If you simply must have multi-pots then search for 'Brembo Upgrade' in these forums. The Brembo four pots BMW fitted to their larger saloons fit and can be matched to 283mm (I think) to 330mm discs. Lots of threads with details of parts and how toos. I recall you need 16-inch wheels for all but the 283mm discs. Even then only one of the factory 15-inch wheel options fits over the 283mm discs.

Irregardless or what route you take, if you're seeking optimal braking you may wish to inspect the whole system for erroneous or overly long flexi-pipes.

I bought a set from hansdaal a user on here that fit under 15" rims. I believe they're Hi Spec units that are branded with the TVR logo. They look great and work well for me. You could also look up the Brembo conversion using the 5 series brakes.

Pic of them after fitting.

I think the night and day difference I got after fitting mine was partly due to flushing the old fluid and fitting the braded flexy lines.

I'll bear that in mind when I do change the brakes over this winter.

Or go the whole hog like me…

6 pot 355 mm. Certainly not needed, but they look and perform great.

Under 15 inch Estorils?

I would suggest a call to Reyland Engineering and speak to Martin Hadland as he does all sorts of Cosworth discs and pads and calipers.

The OP did say they may consider 16 or 17. You need 17 for my set up.

Andrew.

Ohhhhhh that's a nice looking set up..... what wheels are those MO or RL...... I was considering 17" Ford RS hardlines or softlines for a more OE look. I guess your suspension is adjustable?

They’re the RL7 wheels. I have Gaz Monotube suspension too, which has been great.

Andrew.
