Hi All

A every, very long story, but we had to get our roof repaired - new tiles, new roof valley and new lining in the loft.

The new white lining is very untidy, and of a different material to the original black lining.

We are now water tight, but if we were to sell in the future, would this cause alarm bells for surveyors and buyer?

I’m a surveyor and yes, based on those images, I’d be concerned.

Looking on my phone, I’m honestly not even 100% sure what’s going on there - given that there seems to be two types of membrane visible…

And not only because of that, but because if they’ve left a very visible area like that, I’d worry as to the quality of the rest of the job…

It looks like there has been some work carried out to a lead valley, new strip of (white) felt installed on the lay boards but not trimmed neatly to size and fixed tightly, hence it drooping down. Probably not a concern in itself but as you say if they can’t be arsed to do that properly…

Yes, the plastic valley had previously been punctured by a scaffold pole and was replaced.

Is there anything I can do to tidy it up and make it less obvious?

We're not currently selling, but I'm still in dispute with the company that caused the original damage and they need to understand that this is not how it should be left!
