OMG how awful, I have never heard of this condition before but it is truly horrific.

I can not imagine how I would/could cope in this situation.

The parents have two girls with the same condition. Overnight they grow as much skin as a normal person would take 2 weeks to grow. :(

Watching it now. Awful condition. Makes you glad to just have your regular, everyday problems... We've got it easy

I'll never complain that baby fish is being awkward or niggly again.

Watched the first ten minutes, couldnt watch anymore. I dont know how they coped seeing how their daughter looked at birth, it would have sent me off screaming to the loony bin.

Some folks are dealt a shit hand for sure.

Very sad. The attitude of those two girls is truly amazing though, considering what they have to go through every day of their lives.

We've just finished watching some of it. The Whoozette is a dermatologist, and her previous boss treats the oldest girl. What a horrible disease.

Skin is bloody important. If it was fitted just 1cm too high, you wouldn't be able to see!

very sad and very moving.
there parents will be strong and fight for them.
if they had an invisible disabilty like autism would people have such empathy.
This is not meant to detract from there plight. just to make others aware that some people have severe disabilities that are not always so obvious.

sorry to thread hijack

I have no idea how they cope. But they do.

If you feel sufficiently moved by what you saw, please consider giving a donation to the Ichthyosis Support Group at www.ichthyosis.org.uk/

(I made the website for them )
