After a bit of deliberation, I test drove this XE S today and was pretty much instantly sold on it.
I'm picking it up on Friday and it ticks all my boxes. Fast, comfy, the engine feels special and it fell well within my car hunting budget. Just a fantastic thing to drive.
It's got very low miles (35000) and great service history.

I'm intending to keep this long term (for real this time), so I've started this thread with an eye to some mods in future. The suspension is absolutely spot on out the box for me so that will be staying put, but I can definitely see the room for some more grunt in future. It's a great engine though, my first supercharged car and I 100% 'get' supercharging now after years of driving turbo cars.
I wasn't entirely sold on the colour combo after my girlfriend said it looked like Deadpool inside, but in real life it looks much better than in photos

It's definitely not slow! It's more the combo of comfort and handling that surprised me, it feels extremely well sorted and stiff without being crashy.

Didn't get a chance to put my foot to the floor but I'm looking forward to finding out!

I'm currently obsessed with these
They seem like good value for something slightly different, understated with an interesting engine
Still annoyed they never made an estate!

Rear silencer delete, pulley and a remap!

I really like these, there's a couple local to me, they're so subtle. Great choice.

That looks lovely!

If only Jaguar had made some of the more powerful models with a manual gearbox I might have had one on my radar to replace my BMW 330i.

Insurance and everything sorted so just waiting for Friday to pick it up! Insurance surprisingly reasonable, only 90 quid more than the Fiesta.
I think I'll lay off modifying it for a year or so, then look at a remap and swap out the pulleys.

Nice choice OP, rare car and in the best colour imo.

Enjoy.

Took her home and gave her a good drink of 99! Brilliant drive home, it wafts along effortlessly but handles exceptionally well down a B road.

Takes off like a stabbed rat as well when you get on it, not the fastest thing ever but it has a really nice powerband

First problem! The gearbox locks out Sport mode unless I'm stationary.
I assume it's something to do with the shift position sensor, because in my Golf R a few years ago it would sometimes think I hadn't put it in park when I switched it off. The operation of the gearbox is absolutely fine in either drive or sport and it feels spot on using the paddles, so I don't think there's anything actually wrong. I live near the Jag Specialist in Donny so will get it looked at some time before the dealer warranty runs out.

Other than that the car is fking fantastic. I love the engine, it handles beatifully and it's an extremely comfy, effortless cruiser. The chassis could easily handle quite a bit more power, resisting the temptation to swap the pulley out and remap it will be difficult!

Great looking car, did these come in the two different power levels like the FType?

Yes, but not at the same time. 2017+ got 380hp, this is a 340 one. Still gets a shift on, very different power delivery to the turbos I've got used to over the last several years!
