First Thread in RC Merc C250d

Morning all.
I was posting in the Merc thread but thought this was probably the better place.
Longish post warning..
The aging dog cart bit the bullet a few months ago and after borrowing various sheds to do the duties we eventually ended up with another one, albeit tidier than we needed.
We’ve been looking for a number of months with a low budget of around £3k for an estate car and the amount of utter shyte at that price is plentiful.
Then my good lady decided she fancied a Freelander and upped the budget to around 8-10k and similar results.
Temporarily gave up and beginning of last week started thumbing through AT again, and the first hit was a 2011 Mercedes C class 250d estate, 9 miles away and £3k.
Well, it’s only down the road I thought so went expecting the worst.
Apart from it only having 190k miles on the clock, an impeccable service history, interior is literally , as new there wasnt a lot wrong with it!
Took it for a test drive and got back and handed the £3k over as I really couldn’t be bothered to haggle at that price.
It’s a three owner car, with the current owner having had for a little over 10 years.
Serviced on time, every time along with gearbox fluid and filers when required and never seen a tow bar just had four brand new Godd Year efficient grip tyres fitted.
Its had some paint over the years but at that price I really didn’t care.
So, a couple of things to sort…
Drivers door mirror rattles when you close the door and occasionally squeals like a pig when folding. Seen a few on eBay for around £100, with the correct part number and correct colour paint, and after watching a few videos seems reasonably straight forward to diy.
Parking sensors are sporadic and the reas are showing as faulty so will get those looked at by the local specialist as he can plug it in to see what the problem is.
If it’s going to cost many hundreds of pounds, I’ll scrap that and get a reverse camera installed.
Did the on board dash battery check and its resting at around 12v which is probably ok for now, but might get a new one fitted before winter.
I’ll get a few pics up once I have taken them but the thing is, when you have seen one c class estate you have seen them all!
