Time for some new tyres on the touring, done 8000 miles on the P Zeros it was delivered on, 3 Euro trips and 3 tracks days. I found the Pirelli’s to be a good all round tyre and tempted to use them again.

Before going ahead, I’d be interested to know if anyone had any other suggestions. Michelin pilot sport 5 was another potential, I’ve had a cup 2 on a 991 GT3 RS, great on track but found them a little busy in cold and wet conditions

Open to ideas!

If you want to use N rated tyres the question is one of size availability ...

I'm not familiar with 992 sizes ... but I guess the MPS5S / MPS4S / Continental Sport Contact 7 / Pirelli P Zero ?? could be options ?

I hope this isn't a useless reply !

Tyre sizes are 255/315.

Pilot sport s5 doesn’t appear to be available in 255.

I have pilot 5 (non S) on my Lotus V6 Exige - they come from the factory like that - very good tyre - tons and tons of grip and great turn in . Just an alternative to think about . TBH the PZeros are a good all rounder especially if you get through them quickly like you do - will over heat on rack as much as 4S etc unless you have some spare wheels for some cups or Rs

I have Pzero R on 992.2 Tour and GTS Hybrid, best all round road tyres I have used, also works really well in wet conditions and standing Water. Psi works best at 27/29 cold in my experience

The current answer to this is the Contisport 7 if they do it in your sizes. Brilliant tyre.

I recently swapped from P Zero to PS4S, the main difference I found:

P Zeros were like rocks when cold, especially at front generating understeer.

On the flip side, PS4S are too grippy which makes it harder to drift out of roundabouts or slow 2nd gear turns as it “just grips”

So without being a hooligan, the PS4 is probably a better tire =)
