Built in ice dispenser in fridge/freezer - too much ice
Discussion
We had an Admiral F/F., within the warranty period we had trouble with the ice maker, they sent someone out to fix it.
It seems they knew about the problem, but decided to wait for people to complain rather than do a recall.
Somewhere in the ice maker they fitted a small heater circuit, which kept getting blocked up now and then.
Now have a Samsung although it's well laid out inside, the ice maker is pants compared to the other, at two years old it stopped working, new ice maker and PCB £300.
Two years later it stopped again, refusing to pay out again I declared I wasn't going to keep paying out every two years.
Then it started working again, this had been in the height of the hot weather, a search online shows if the F/F is struggling to keep the contents cool it stops making ice, now twice a year I take the back panel off and make sure the radiator isn't blocked with dust and dog hairs.

The insulated flap not closing is the problem. The ice is melting from ambient temp air getting in, and then refreezing overnight when the fridge has a chance to catch up. Basically an icicle is forming. Fix the flap so that it shuts and it should sort it. Or just use more ice, so that it doesn’t have a chance to melt and refreeze.

We used to have a Samsung American fridge freezer, the chilled water dispenser was amazing when it worked. Whenever we contacted Samsung to report it not dispensing water they’d send a repair man, but on the day of his visit it would be working, so they didn’t repair anything . The following day it would fail again. Hated the thing.
