As per title, I've seen a couple of Clio RS200 "Raider" (s) for sale - matt "frosted "grey, recarro seats,200bhp, look great !

I want to buy a car to use through winter, does anyone have any opinions / experience of these - the ones advertised are around £12-13K , are they worth buying or is there something else ( in the Clio range ) that I should be looking at as an alternative ?

I've had a lot of hot hatches including three Clio V6's , Integrales, Clubsport S Golfs, VW Rallyes, GR Yaris, etc etc and quite fancy one of these.

Any opinions welcome

Thanks

I think the gearbox is the weak point on 200s (all Renault RS?)

The Recaros look great, I’d want them but not sure what they are like to live with compared to the normal seats

RS197 and RS200 are great cars, the more special cars do hold their value or at least people ask a bit more for them, these tend to be Raiders, Alien Green and Liquid yellows. Low mileage, Recaro's and other special editions are also known to cost a bit more.

The exception seems to be Gordini which is shunned a bit as being heavy and no one seems to want/like the leather interior.

Gearboxes can be a bit weak for 3/4 gear syncros but this more down to people driving them hard and shifting aggressively so experiences will differ. Cam belts can be expensive to get done but that's not the end of the world in my opinion.
