Suspension Questions-2009 Continental GT Speed
Discussion
So I readjusted my suspension sensor links to get car back to stock height. Previously at the lowered height-about an 1 1/4" drop, the suspension would allow the car to drop about 1"+ over night in front, more on left front than right. Now it only drops about 1/4" on left and 1/8" on right at the new/stock ride height. Any idea why the big change?? If it's only dropping 1/8-1/4" in 12-15 hrs, how much should I worry about changing the struts? Ride is significantly improved, as well as steering/handling-my guess is whoever lowered it never had an alignment done, which I will do, but if I need to change struts, I might as well do that first and then align. Car has 40K miles, so what say you?
If I should change them, I'm thinking of doing all 4 with the new ones from Miessler Automotive in Germany-they offer all new struts with the same adjustability of the OEMs with no core needed, so i can save my originals if I ever need to rebuild later. At about $2500 for 4 struts, plus shipping, it seems like a good deal-in my conversations with them they say they use the same valving as OEM and go by original part numbers. They offer pretty much anything and everything for our air suspensions from complete new struts to rebuild kits to air compressors, valves, sensors, links, etc. and have been in business for over 20 years. Somebody has to try them and give some feedback, so if I need to change them, I'm willing to be the guinea pig.
