Ever since buying a spare wheel fitted with a new sensor I’ve had a problem with an intermittent RDC warning message and flashing orange light. I asked a mini garage to sort but they reported they couldn’t find a problem!
Having checked that each tyre is 36lb/sq in with a gauge, and resetting the system, all seems good but like a bad penny the warning returns - often after driving on a motorway ie the tyres heating up. As the system doesn’t tell you on which wheel the sensor has failed my question is how I can permanently sort the problem?
Can each tyre be checked independently?

Do you mean you have 5 wheels in/on the car with sensors?

I could imagine this will confuse the system.

If it's just 4 wheels, then you could reduce the pressure by say, 5 or 10psi at each wheel, one at a time, to see if you can isolate the faulty sensor that way.

However, if all sensors are from 2015, then the batteries will be near end of life, so will need new sensors.

Yes my spare was fitted with a sensor and has been used when I got a puncture. I’ve tried increasing and lowering the pressure separately but haven’t been able to find the source of the problem. Not keen to replace all 5 sensors as they are expensive but had no idea they have a battery!
I maintain it should be possible to check each one separately but how?
I was surprised to measure a pressure of over 40lbs/sq in on a hot tyre.
