Engine age verification for IVA
Discussion
Hi All..
I have a desire to get through IVA towards the back end of the year on a Hawk 289 (Cobra) with a 289 Small Block Ford.
I've been reading that the documentation requirements to demonstrate the age of the engine have been more strictly enforced recently and so I was wondering if anyone had recently navigated this, specifically with a ford 302 / 289 and, if so, what were your experiences of IVA in relation to the evidence required?
In the past, taking a letter from a "trusted" source, like a recognised engine builder (e.g. RealSteel) has been sufficient, but, now, I hear you need a letter from the original manufacturer.
TIA - Steve

You may care to give Jon Freeman at AK Sportscars a call. We had a chat at their open day and he had just run into this problem and he was having discussions with the appropriate people. Since then he has got a car through IVA at Nowich test centre.
So it would very interesting to get an update on what transpired as clearly this is fundamental to his (and others) businesses.
