Roof Cover / Cap

I want to get a cover for the roof, as I can't be bothered to refit the roof for every overnight stop on next year's [url]Spanish Tour|http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=204466[/url]. I'm looking for something cheap (Halfwits, Argos, etc - not the Leven hood cover). Any recommendations?

Beware

I have a Leven one, which I used for a while. Well a couple of times.

Left the car out on a windy night, by the morning the paintwork around the edge of the hood was covered in scratches. The cover had been moving, only about a centimetre, in the wind and had knackered the paint right around the edge.

Doubt if a cheap one would fare any better.

I finally bought a cover at the Classic Motor Show (NEC). It's a "Car Top Cover" size Small (Sports / Roadster) - £27.50p (show price) from Hamilton Classic (but not listed on their website). It covers from the bottom of the windscreen to the back of the hood and the side windows. An adjustable strap hooks on each wheel and there's a strap that goes under the middle of the car (that I definitely won't be using).

I assume so - I bought it at a show, so no catalogue number - you'll need to check with Hamilton Classic. Mine is labelled "Small (Sports / Roadster)". It doesn't have the "ears"/pockets for door mirrors. Appears to be the same as in the MGB pic. I've cut off the centre Y-strap that goes under the car.

It's very light weight, so I have reinforced the points where the straps join to the cover. The hooks on the end of each strap hook on to the wheels and, due to the shape of an S, they need to be adjusted to nearly max length to reach the front wheels and very short to hook on to the rears.

It doesn't look like it would survive hard use/weather, but it's ideal as a quick & easy cover.
