Hi all

I purchased an Arnage Red Label, which had been laid up for some time.

I actually drove from the UK to France to collect the car (Its a UK RHD car, but had been exported when the owners moved, yet was not registered abroad).

Armed with a boot-full of tools and 2 x New batteries, after some tinkering - which included chasing down and temporarily repairing a charge-cooler fluid leak, I was able to comfortably drive the 757 km home in total comfort and without a hitch!!!

This was back in March.

I've since done a few jobs, but I'm hoping a member in Essex or the surrounding area may have a Bentley Omitec diagnostic machine (that I could either buy if they wanted to sell, or even perhaps use). I'd really like to plug the car in and check for any codes as am working a little blind without one.

My car is the crossover OBD1 car which has the OBD2-type connection.

Many thanks,

Gallen.

You should be able to get any engine level information from a regular advanced scanner like an autel. The Omitec will only be useful for alarm, gearbox and airbag. Here's a video showing an older model Autel being used. https://youtu.be/rH6l0s_vO3A

You can rent an omitec from flying spares if you really need one but a good scan tool will get you mostly there for any non programmable work.

Thank you.

Typically, one of the jobs is that I need to re-sync both my original key fobs - neither work with only the red light coming on (on the fobs) with the button presses, but are do nothing!

Mine's a 2001 6.75 which I believe is the cross-over OBD1 vehicle (with the OBD2 shaped connector).

For the key fobs, you'll need an omitec which you can rent from flying spares. Everything was moved over to the OBD2 connector on the Arnage. The RR and Bentley property systems talk on the vacant pins that are not part of the OBD2 standard

It is possible to sync a key immobilizer with the autel but not the alarm
