2016 c63 estate cold start weird noise, any ideas?

Can hear a knocking/ticking noise in the engine bay of my c63 any people know what this might be. Thanks

It'll be coming from the engine.

We may need some more information. Can you locate it to a specific part of the engine/ engine bay? Does it go away when you're moving? Or when you rev it? If you put it in gear? Or when the engine warms up? How regular is it? Can you hear it with the bonnet shut? How many miles has the car done? Is it properly serviced? Have you prodded around the engine bay to see if anything is obviously loose?

Knocking and ticking are two quite different noises. What does it actually sound like? Also how sure are you that it's new? Engines make all sorts of noises which you mostly don't notice.
