Howdy all!
I have been trawling the forums, posts, internet, reading chickenbones and I need your group wise sage advice please and thankyou!

We have a family car, electric, safe, and wonderful.

We need a second car, budget is around 8k, reliability is a priority!
The car isnt doing much commuting, just local runs etc.
I live rurally so used to have a pick up which doesnt suit us now.

Would like it to have a large boot space

I like the bigger rugged 4x4 style cars, but dont need one... it needs to be something we can both drive so pickups are out and SUVs 4x4s are about as big as shes comfortable with.

So far looked at;
LR Freelander 2, Defenders, Toyota Rav 4, Dacia Duster, Toyota Land cruiser, Mitsubishi Shogans, VW Golfs

Mitsubishi Outlander could be worth a look if you’re looking at Shoguns. Better running costs and generally reliable.

well the TD4, well maintained 2013+ seems to be fairly good from reviews and what ive seen, Haldex servicing missed is concern, cambelt and water pump serviced, and should be good? Some have rear structural issues with rust, but a few rare clean models out there

Subaru outback or forester would seem to be the answer
