Last minute Tropical ideas for September?
Discussion
Hello people,
Can anyone recommend somewhere 'tropical', for sun/sea/scuba/waterfalls etc, thats ideally not in the Med (mainly as the Scuba diving spots, arent what im looking for).
Ive googled it and its suggested Aruba and Bali but is there anywhere else? I dont mind a tropical storm on a daily basis as they tend to last 10 minutes then disappear but not 24/7.
Thanks

If Aruba came up then look at Providenciales and Grand Cayman, both nicer than Aruba (IMO).
Thanks, ill check them out as well and see how much they are in the Hurricane belt as i know that area and September doesnt always mix....Exiled Imp said:

And yes im aware im kinda limited with September travel and its not the month or location id normally choose.
Yeah unfortunately Googles 10-14 day forecast suggest rain/overcast each day from today.
I know that it might be different once out there though and it could just be a 20 minute rain storm.
But looking at Borneo, it seems that from Borneo to Bali is dry or from Hue (Vietnam) up, so a few more areas to look at i guess.
Borneo could be interesting though but not sure if you need to bounce about every few days or can stay in 2 areas and use them as a 'base' and day trip out to places?

September is a bad month for most countries weather wise IMHO.I know that it might be different once out there though and it could just be a 20 minute rain storm.

Weather in Thailand gets good in November, when the high season starts (and prices go up) you can often get good weather in Oct but you're taking your chances.
Maybe consider the antipodes (Australia, Saaarf Africa, Un Zud) as they'll be going into Spring. Expensive though.
No idea what the diving is like in NZ or SA though... Wrong person to ask here.
Medellin, Colombia isn't called the City of the Eternal Spring for nothing though, but you're 1,500m up and hundreds of miles from the nearest coast.

Tell me about it, id have gone in October but plans have changed etc.Medellin, Colombia isn't called the City of the Eternal Spring for nothing though, but you're 1,500m up and hundreds of miles from the nearest coast.
I was in Colombia last September and wasnt a fan, maybe id have a different opinion if i was doing passport bro things but im not into that. But bounced around there
Ive been to central California before and bounced about there, not really into 'raves' but would love to see the light show in the globe (?) in LV then shoot a minigun from a helicopter (i know its nevada and i could hit up the national parks from there) but LV seems to have disappeared up its arse with all the taxes
Currently thinking Aruba/Curacao or Borneo via KL

I kind of mentioned it as a bit of a joke, the slogan of the city is "Ciudad de primavera eterna" or "city of the eternal spring" and it is a pleasant 20 something year round. However I'd recommend doing the opposite of the passport bros but you'll deffo need some Spanish. Tour the city, take the metrocable up to the hills, maybe a day trip out to Guatape.Colombia is a royal ballache to get to from the UK.
Oz and the GBR is good if you can handle the flight and have deep pockets.

Whereas we always go to the Caribbean in Sept. It’s cheapest month and any rain storms last about 10-30mins and get rid of the humidity. It’s also the least busy as everyone worries about the hurricane season
Can't argue with that, while it's higher risk.. I bet the chances of being caught in a major one are still low.
