When the Taycan came out there seemed to be a lot of problems with it, from crashing infotainment to car issues that needed days in the workshop.
Not really all that dissimilar to problems with the VW ID3.
I see today talk of the 718 production ending to start the new EV versions.
Have Porsche sorted all their issues with the Taycan?

Well Porsche have produced solutions to all of them where my MY2020 Taycan Turbo S is concerned. Apart from the possibility of high voltage battery cells short circuiting and causing a fire. For that they’ve introduced on board battery monitoring software to check for anomalies then limit charging to 80% and warn the driver of an issue.

Sorry, can I hijack the thread and just ask a little more on the 80% part of the response... so most EV's they recommend not charging past 80% for battery longevity etc, which is fine. However sometimes you need to go 100% for the range. Are you saying that with an EV there is an increased chance of fire from "high voltage battery cells short circuiting" between 80% and 100% or is this just a Taycan thing...I’d buy another

I've only heard of it on the Taycan and I-Pace (which I think use similar batteries from the same supplier). And then only when the car detects a problem with your battery. And only temporarily until your dealer repairs/replaces your battery to resolve the underlying issue. So not a general issue with using 100% of the capacity of an EV when its helpful.Frimley111R said:
You think they haven't fixed the issues in 6 years??
I don't know, that's why I asked. On the ID3, the cost cutting on window switches won't have been "fixed" until they rolled out a new model. Not saying Porsche went to that extent, but with problems, doesn't mean they get fixed with software, or quickly. Hence the question.
