Any advice would be appreciated.

I am in the process of trying to close two trusts set up by my in-laws in 1999. FIL passed away in January this year, MIL is still alive.

In 1999, via the now defunct Bradford & Bingley, they opened two 'Prudential Initial Charge Bond' accounts, each with 5 beneficiaries, and placed these in two trusts, one in FIL name (Mr X and others as Trustees) one in MIL name (Mrs X and others as Trustees).

Prudential are proving to be a nightmare to deal with.

The upshot is they are insisting they have sight of the original trust deed, which my MIL is adamant they never had a copy of, I believe her as they keep everything, and have copies of every annual statement they have had relating to these trusts.

I have asked Prudential is why they don't have a copy of the original trust deed, and they are unable to answer that simple question.

So, to sum up, what do I do? How on earth can I get a copy of something we never had from an organisation that doesn't exist any more?

Thanks for reading.
