Suzuki Jimny Leak
Discussion
I m no mechanic but given the lack of responses I thought chat gpt may offer some assistance to you:
I can t diagnose it with 100 % certainty from one photo, but here s what it looks like and some common possibilities on a 2005 Suzuki Jimny:
What s visible:
Two aluminium lines/pipes likely A/C (refrigerant) or heater/coolant lines.
A small black rubber grommet/plug with a shiny droplet forming on or under it.
Likely sources
1. A/C system condensate or oil
The Jimny s A/C lines run at the back of the engine bay near the firewall.
Refrigerant oil or dye can seep from a service port Schrader valve, an O-ring at a union, or the low-pressure line.
If the liquid is oily but mostly clear and has a faint chemical smell, this is a good candidate.
2. Heater core hose connection
If the fluid is coolant (slightly sweet smell, colored often green/orange), it could be a heater hose or the firewall grommet where the heater core pipes pass through.
3. Firewall grommet weep hole / A/C drain
Clear water dripping after the A/C runs is often just condensation and is normal.
But if it feels oily, it s not just water.
What to check
Look at the liquid:
Clear & watery after A/C use = likely normal condensation.
Oily/greasy = possible refrigerant oil.
Colored & sweet smell = coolant.
Pressure test / UV dye:
A/C shops can check with UV light or use a manifold gauge to see if the system is low on refrigerant.
Tighten or replace Schrader valve core or O-ring if it s an A/C service port leak.
Next steps
If it s just clear water and appears only when the A/C is running, it s harmless.
If it s oily or coolant, have a mechanic inspect the A/C low-pressure line fittings or heater hose connections soon, as a slow refrigerant or coolant leak can lead to bigger repairs.
If you can dab a little on a white tissue and tell me the color/feel/smell, I can help narrow it down further.

Many thanks for this. It's clear and seems to be water and after a/c was on, so think/hope all is well!I can t diagnose it with 100 % certainty from one photo, but here s what it looks like and some common possibilities on a 2005 Suzuki Jimny:
