Painting over painted calipers
Discussion
Dear all,
I’ve recently bought a 22 plate 2.0 mx5 which I’m really happy with. The previous owner had the calipers painted red, which I can appreciate, but they are not to my taste. I’m looking to get them back to looking standard.
My options are new calipers - quoted £1380 all round from a Mazda dealer which is a lot, but many local garages were too busy / found Mazda parts had poor availability.
or..
Could I get them repainted silver? Any opinions on whether having them painted a second time is not advised? I suspect it will be cheaper!
I’m not technical so am open to ideas or perhaps I’m overlooking an issue if they are painted again.
Thank you!
Alan

There is no issue, it is just more coats of paint.
Just make sure you use VHT paint and prepare them properly.
Alternatively get in touch with Bigg Red, they have an ebay shop also & are cheap as chips for replacement callipers.
