Hello and greetings from the Black Forest.

My 2024 M440i X Drive is asking for a software update. I’m reluctant to do the update while out of the country as once when I updated the software it affected the settings of my Ghost immobiliser which was a big pain.

Has anyone here installed this latest update please. If so any thoughts or comments on the changes?

I have a Ghost. How did the BMW update affect your Ghost?

It completely threw out the button sequence I’d been using. It needed a reset which took a while.

Ok, that’s good to know if I have trouble in the future. Just checked MyBMW app and I don’t have any updates shown at the mo but one to remember in the future.

Mine updated last night. All fine this morning, even the auto hold is staying on again now. 2024 X5.

I'm reluctant to do software updates as I am concerned they will affect the driver assistance settings.

Right now you can turn off the speeding bong permanently which is a godsend (plenty of other manufacturers make it reset every time you start). I am wondering if BMW may end up changing that in the future via software.

So i've left automatic software updates off for now.

That’s a very good point. I have one preset button which turns it all off but has to be done every ignition cycle.

It’d be good to know what’s in this update.

I updated mine, the next day I had a ‘camera failure’ when reversing into a parking space. Been working fine since.

Just noticed that the safety camera app has stopped working. I think it did that last time for a few days. Hope it sorts itself out shortly.

I have been chatting about line to BMW this afternoon and the safety camera app is a known problem for UK customers…they have no idea when it will be fixed. Awesome stuff.

Just to bring this up to date.

Everything is back working again as it was.

Small update. Before the update Apple Maps showed route guidance on the HUD but google did not. Now google does as well. Other than that all is fine.
