Where Chimaera comes from....

Now i'm no geek but was bored t'other day and decided to search for chim on google, and it came up with this....
"The Chimaera - or Chimera - was said to be made out of three different creatures: lion, goat and serpent. A savage beast, sprouting fire from its mouth, it devastated the land until it was killed by the hero Bellerophon who flew over it riding his winged horse Pegasus. This story, although apparently simple in its basic lines, is among the most ancient ones of occidental mythology and it hides some deep and still not exactly known meaning."
Now i like this, as my baby is a "savage beast" and she also devastates the land around Berkshire. The only difference is that unlike the original, she sprouts fire in a rather un-ladylike manner from her behind....

Chimaera - a monstrous, three-headed beast shaped like a lion with a goat's head rising from its back, and a serpent-headed tail.
Cerbera - derived from Greek mythology and means a three headed dog, fabled to guard the entrance of Hades (it is the brother of Chimaera).
Typhon - fierce and monstrous son of Gaea. He was the father of Echidna—a monster half woman and half dragon
Sagaris - was the Greek name for a weapon used by the ancient Scythians The weapon was a kind of battle-axe

Griffith - I belive was named after is named after Jack Griffith who took a TVR Grantura and stuck a big engine in it
T350 - Who knows, crap name
T350T - As a above but with Targa roof panels
S1, S2, S3 & V8S - No idea why
Tuscan - From older TVR's again no idea why
Tamora - A PW car and not an older name also not a mythical beast?
Vixen - A lady fox? why I don't know

Chimaera is quite a clever name, actually, because it has multiple meanings that all apply well to the car.

So we have a car that is made up of a number of incongruous parts (Sierra bits, Cavalier bits, Rover engine, various Land Rover parts, etc.), that is a fire-breathing she-monster (especially in 500 guise) and is also an unrealizable dream for many.
Sounds like a perfect name.

I've been to the place the legend took place in Turkey. About 1km up a mountain flames lick from the rocks which is said to be the breath of Chimaera still breathing under the mountain. Great place.
