Hi

Further to my previous post, I wonder if anyone knows what the function of the yellow wire in the picture is? The plug is for the rear view mirror and I am assuming the white is positive, the grey is reverse inhibit and the black is negative, no idea on the yellow.
I ask as I want to fit a Jaguar Homelink mirror and need to fit the Aston plug or at least establish the wiring.

Thank you.

I believe that auto-dimming mirrors require an electrical supply to function, as they use electrochromic technology.

Could it be this?

Should be easy to test (disconnect and see if mirror still dims when a bright light shone on it)..

I can't remember which wire is which but...

Ignition controlled power for dimming
Earth
Reverse Inhibit
Permanent Power so the homelink doesn't lose its memory

Hi
That’s great thank you!
By comparing the colours to the Jaguar ones, white must be switched positive, grey reverse inhibit, black earth and yellow a constant live. I will see when I fit it no doubt…..
Out of curiosity dies the Homelink work when the ignition is off?

Regards
Chris
