Hi all,
I'm in the market for a new daily (changing the Cayman and going back to 2 cars). I had pretty much set my sights on a C-Class Coupe (2017'ish) as I like the styling, it's a Merc (so pretty reliable) and will be a nice car for slugging to and from work in.

However, yesterday in a motorway services a coupe caught my eye that I didn't recognise, so I did a drive by and it was an Infiniti Q60. Never was on the radar, in fact I didn't know such a thing existed, but I think it's a beautiful looking car, far nicer looking in fact than the C-Class.

However, I know nothing about them, it's well in budget being cheaper than what I'd spend on a C-Class, so would like to know more if anyone knows anything?

Also, is there anything else I could consider, looking up to around £16k, coupe, 60k'ish miles, auto, petrol, 2016+, and a touch of luxury.

Thanks Phers.

I assume it was a gen 2 Q60? Lovely looking car!
These are on the same platform & drivetrain as the Nissan 370z, they are pretty reliable form what I understand with a nice under stressed V6.

I'd also look at a Lexus RC if that is your thing.

With that budget you might get a 3.0TT come up for sale but they're rare.

The 2.0T is a bit easier to find these use the same 2.0T drivetrain as the Mercedes bit imo these have the nicer interior:

If you can live with a saloon & a small budget creep you can get the 3.0TT in the Q50:

What would you like to know?

Apparently good cars but rubbish to sell on again. That 3.0 Turbo Q50 linked above has been for sale for nearly 2 years now!

So the 2.0T is a Mercedes engine but the 3.0 is a Nissan/Renault engine?

Yes the 3.0 is the same unit that is now in the new Z & it's purely a Nissan unit.

Thanks ZX, I knew you'd come through with some nice alternatives, I was just after any info or experience that people have had, appreciate they're rare (which I like) so getting feedback from owners on here may be difficult. My main concern with cars, certainly a daily, is reliability. They certainly look really nice (Q60), the first one you linked is the one I'm looking at. So, yeah, any thoughts or insight anyone has about them really, but focussing on reliability, running costs are what they are I guess, it's the un-foreseen issues they have that is my concern. E.G., I love my Cayman, but they all come with known faults, such as coolant pipe corrosion, exhaust studs (connecting manifold to backbox) rust, gear linkage, clutch switch and on the early S models the dreaded bore score. So I was just wondering if there are any known issues with the Q60 that may cause a big bill to be thrown at me out of the blue?

As I said, I think they look really nice, interior looks like a nice place to be, they have some power behind them (sharing the same engine as the C300 Coupe (so I'm guessing the Q60 is also RWD).

Thanks all

I have an Infiniti Q70 2.2d, I like that it's different.

It drives incredibly well, I had a nightmare 6 hour motorway/minor road trip a few months ago and got out feeling fine.

The engine, transmission etc are quite standard and lots of bits from other Nissan cars. I've been able to read diagnostics with a cheap reader.

The only thing to consider is servicing, you need a garage that is comfortable doing it and can source any parts. I haven't had any problems getting anything (including a suspension arm) but one of my local garages was a bit reluctant to take it on.

Fundamentally they aren't complex cars and I do get the impression that if I keep on top of servicing properly it would cope with v high miles.

No issues ro speak of they just run there's nothing that'll turn your wallet into a shrinking violet wink none have caused a massive issue with friends & family.

Yes the 2.0T is RWD the 3.0TT is AWD.

The first one is very nice the second one has adaptive cruise but no real info so it's hard to judge that one.

My brother in law had the 3.0 and I drove it a few times on some long trips. I absolutely loved it, really comfortable, good driving position, 4 useable seats and enough room for a few bags. But most importantly it drove well and that engine sound was amazing for a lux coupe.
