I found this a useful watch (10 mins):

https://news.sky.com/video/uks-unprecedented-immig...

Some key takeaways:

- Small boats make up less than 5% of immigration.
- Immigration rose massively under the Conservatives, particularly after post-Brexit changes.
- Student visas account for the vast majority of inflows. Yet approx 60% of students switch to other visa types within two years, (feels like a loophole).
- Donald Trump managed to drastically cut immigration into the US (although through controversial methods).

Student visas have long been a joke. Many years ago I worked in retail and almost every store I visited was manned by foreign "students". Many of them just worked full time and the degree was largely questionable.

A more useful watch would be standing on a corner of any main road in London and count the number of Indians scooting around delivering dark kitchen food to busy idiots. It used to be mainly Brazilian riders causing mayhem on the roads, presumably they've all now qualified in whatever study they undertook and just disappeared, now it's mainly Indians. Rinse and repeat.
