991.2 GTS, what a machine!
Discussion
I m 9 months into ownership and I m still staggered by a few less obvious qualities of this car. For the record, my first Porsche was a Carrera S, which I only had for a few weeks before trading to the GTS (loved that too).
Yes, it s genuinely very quick, yes it handles remarkably but what amazes me just as much is how it behaves in boring mundane situations. Mine s shamefully a bit of a garage queen and as I haven t used it much recently I thought I d take it for a jaunt this afternoon. Quite heavy traffic and our West Sussex roads are crap but after a 35 mile drive, pootling along our now 40 and 50 mph roads, it was still a fantastic place to be. Even at normal speeds, it s a genuinely lovely car to drive and appreciate.
Incredibly it also averaged 35mpg and ok, I was travelling with a line of cars most of the way but managed a couple of fast blast, so that s truly incredible.
Can t be many near 200mph sports cars that are so versatile!

I joined the GTS club too recently and echo your sentiments, it's a beast when pushed and very civilised when not being pushed.
The previous owner of my car had the hassle of getting both turbos replaced under warranty, about 4K miles ago, so fingers crossed I will not have a reoccurrence of this issue as I've read the turbos have been revised.
FYI get C5 sealant on those Centre locks to protect the anodisation :-)

They’re not near 200mph cars, they’ll run just north of that 😀
I enjoyed daily driving, European trips and a little track work in my 991.2 GTS and loved it.
I’ve just got into a 991.1 GTS and am back from a couple of thousand miles into Europe - always wanted to try one. The NA sound is so much better but no surprises there. They’re both as economical (relatively speaking) as each other and obviously the NA engine hasn’t got the low down grunt but it more rewarding up in the revs for it.
Steering better on the .2 but hardly night and day.
Both superb cars and I can’t see them getting any cheaper now given they should be considered as the last of a generation.

I have a 991.1 GTS 3.8 in Riviera blue. It is a real pleasure to drive quickly or slowly.
I have been across France, Germany and the UK in it and (other than the crappy concrete bit of of the M25) it is a joy everywhere!
I had an hour in a mate's 991.1 GTS this year in Spain when all members of the group swapped cars. It was a blast and I really enjoyed it.I have been across France, Germany and the UK in it and (other than the crappy concrete bit of of the M25) it is a joy everywhere!

Lovely and by far the best colour. I'm pondering selling mine - they hold value incredibly, going on what it's been valued by a few places, so rest well if it's a keeper for you - but then I give it a little wash and have to say it does look good. The previous owner of my car had the hassle of getting both turbos replaced under warranty, about 4K miles ago, so fingers crossed I will not have a reoccurrence of this issue as I've read the turbos have been revised.

Best non GT car if you need 4 seats occasionally.

I would love to get my hands on a RB one as I have a RB 991.1 GT3 and it would be cool to have the pair. So if you ever look to sell, please let me know! I have been across France, Germany and the UK in it and (other than the crappy concrete bit of of the M25) it is a joy everywhere!
As for the noise, exhaust note on the 991.1 GTS is better than the GT3 most of the time!

Great cars. Until the bloody turbos and engine mounts let go. Don't ask me how I know...
Make sure you keep it under warranty.
Didn’t they do a recall for the engine mounts ? I know I had mine done when I had one but can’t remember if they went or it was a recall .Make sure you keep it under warranty.
