Have interview.

2 weeks pass, no reply from them.

E-mail them, no response after a week.

E-mail them again marking as urgent and requiring a read receipt.

Receive a read receipt from the person concerned, but they do not have the courtesy to make any form of reply whatsoever.

Ultimate 21st century slap in the face?

No ruder than you trying to establish contact solely by email IMHO.

Give them a call!

Read reciepts are sometimes sent by the recieving SMTP server.

Theres no way of being absolutely sure that your emails have been read.

I'm in week 2 of waiting, heard friday that it definately wasnt a no.

Sometimes these things just take time...

Well, at least they are being consistant with the others. Another firm wouldn't give me any feedback in case I sued them!

It wasn't read until quite some time after it was delivered so I doubt that was the case.

If I receive an e-mail and when I try to open it a message flashes up to say the sender has requested a read response do you want to send YES / NO. I usually hit no that way if I respond after a couple of days I can just say I was on holiday if they ask why it was not responded to when I read it

Sneeky I know

I've had the same thing with an agency - she calls me all the time (even on my day off out with the GF!) to arrange interviews etc.
Then told they'll make a decision that afternoon and not heard anything since tried calling and emailing i just get ignored - i guess i didnt get it and am now not going to make her any commission.

I'd have thought it common courtesy to at least call and say sorry you didnt get it.

In my experience common courtesy, like common sense, is fantastically uncommon.

Perhaps its a test, they want to see how much you want the job. If you give up after a couple of calls then your not the person for them, however if your persistent it might show them your the person for the job. Mind you it might also show you as deperate and they'll think they can get you for a song

Muncher - been there mate.

I think it's disgusting when companies do this. Ask yourself this. Would you really want to work for a concern that treated applicants with such contempt? It's a cultural thing.

Best of luck.
