This is an itch I need to scratch, but being a big lad at 6'4, Ive sat in a new MX and Im looking over the top of of the screen.

Anyone changed the seat or found a way to lower the standard seat ?

Had a similar issue with the Caterham, but lowered floor resolved that.

6 foot 1 here man and I have had an ND for the last 10 years.l since the model was launched. It’s tight inside for sure but such a great little car. There are 3-4 manufacturers who do lowered seat rails - some are fixed and some still allow movement fore and aft (but are more expensive). A search on the miata.net ND forum will tell you all you want to know.

I’m 6ft 1, lowered my seat with aftermarket brackets and use the car daily.

It’s still snug but worth it to be driving such a lightweight and engaging car, I love it. Before this I was looking at a Lotus Elise but that was too much of a compromise.

Interesting about the brackets , good to see.

Ideally , would like to find a car with those fitted to see if I can fit comfortably.

Another option might be an ND with Recaro seats. I’m between 6’2” and 6’3” and have a ND 30th Anniversary which has the Recaros. I believe they are lower than the standard seats.

I have no problem getting comfortable, it is ‘snug’ rather than ‘tight’ but I’ve driven it for 4-5 hours at a time with no issues.

I'm 6.5 and have the Recaro seats, no problem looking through the screen, I am longer in the legs rather than torso though.

I'm 6ft 2 and have a Homura with the Recarro seats - headroom and visibility are OK, but I reckon I am the upper limit of what makes sense in this car.

I'm off to google lowered seat rails!
