Favourite sport since seeing it in Canada 25+ years ago.

The Leafs are my team, used to have season tickets here for the Milton Keynes Kings.

All starts again tonight over the pond - bring it on!

saw the redwings in detroit and rangers at madison sq gardens. Great game, much better live than on tv...plus the odd bare knuckle fight! :-)

One of the best action packed sports to see live makes footie seem

Grew up in Montreal, so was a huge Canadians fan.

However, my brother and parents now live in the Toronto region, so I have this feeling I now need to start supporting the Leafs

Wouldn't call myself a fan per se, but I go along to the occasional Coventry Blaze game.

(My missus' best mates fella plays for them)

Why do you ask?

is it wrong that I like the fighting?

Cool.. never thought I'd get into a hockey discussion on PH... Go Leafs Go!

Unfortunately, they're not going to go too far this year... too many injury prone guys, and not a big enough defence...

The Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers on the other hand, did a great job of picking up talent for this season.

For those of you that don't follow it, last year's season was cut short by a strike by the players union. In the end, they ended up taking a fairly substantial pay cut which allows big name, talented players to go to the smaller budget cities (Like Calgary and Edmonton), so I'm hoping that some of the smaller Canadian teams can finally take it to the big budget US cities.

And yes, it is, IMHO, one of the best sports to watch.

Winter is almost here, just waiting for the dugout to freeze and pull out the sticks and skates!

Thanks for the info, didn´t know about this. Here hockey is the same as in Canada or US, more popular than any other sport. Most of the players here go to the NHL. They make some nice bucks there

rugby league makes ice hockey players look like pansies.

which they are.

I know what I'd rather play and watch.

Rugly league is much better than ice hockey, but ice hockey is still highly entertaining

Well the Leafs had their usual season opener and lost at home to Ottawa.. once again.

At least it was close, SO 2-3 - not like the 0-4 shut out last time I was at the ACC.

League's a northern softies game...

Tricky call on the 'harder' game between hockey and rugby...

Proper Rugby just has it I reckon.
