Fun roads for road trip CalaisLiege/Cologne/Bastogne/ Dinant
Discussion
Doing a quick loop around Belgium and Germany next week and looking for recommendations for nice driving roads and places of interest to pop in to. Leaving and returning to Calais over 4 days and spending a night in each of the titled towns to give you a rough idea. Calais to Liege, Liege to Cologne, Cologne to Bastogne, Bastoge to Dinant and then Dinant back to Calais is the daily plan.
Motorways are banned - its just me and my son in the JCW Clubman doing fun roads ideally. Forests and lakes are good.
Motorworld Koln is on the list, possibly the Spa museum, definitely the Bastogne museum and we're doing some WW1 stuff around Ypres on the last day home from Dinant.
Any suggestions?

The countryside between Liege and the German border (Aachen) is extremely beautiful and interesting. From Aachen to Cologne, threre is comparatively little to see and you might as well take the Autobahn A4. How much time do you want to spend going from Liege to Cologne? Also, what are your preferred lunch stops (nothing/Friterie/brewery/...)?
I have been exploring this area for more than 30 years and are still always happy when I am there.
